Model 550 & Model 750

The model 550 & 750 have everything going for them from manual to hydraulic control…lid…side pattern kit… plus 2 styles of banding kits. All this, plus rigged construction to give you the service you need. You can control seed amounts down to 3 lbs. per acre and fertilizer from 50 lbs. to 1,000 lbs. per acre. Easy-adjusted pattern control enables you to center the spread of light or heavy material. 14 gauge steel hopper with welded seams – round hopper base prevents lodging of material and assures even feeding. Quick-Tach, shielded, telescoping power take-off shaft and gearbox for long, trouble-free use. Heavy cast-iron gearbox has tapered roller bearings, drop-forged gears and filled with oil. Gearbox is standard for 540 RPM but can be ordered for 1,000 RPM tractors also. Your answer for spreading all types of seed and fertilizer as well as salt and calcium on ice and snow.

Model 1200

This model has a 1200 lb. capacity together with all the conveniences you’ll want. A popular broadcaster used for spreading fertilizer and all sizes of seeds. Also used for spreading calcium or salt on ice or snow and is ideally suited for golf courses, nurseries, shopping centers, schools, highways, parks and other large grassy area. Amount of spread per acre of seeds may be controlled down to 3 lbs. per acre and fertilizer from 50 lbs. to 1,000 lbs. per acre. No Special Parts needed to change from seeds to fertilizer. Get an even spread with Herd’s easy-adjusted pattern control. Rotating agitator and fan driven by heavy-duty enclosed gearbox and shielded power take off shaft. Heavy cast iron gearbox has tapered roller bearings, drop-forged gears and is filled with gear oil. Gearbox is standard for 540 rpm, but can be ordered for 1,000 rpm tractors also. Sand Spreaders

Models 5.5, 750S, 750SSS, 1200S

We have three models for wet sand. The 5.5 holds 550# of sand, the 750S holds 1200# and the 1200S holds 2000#. These models are 3 pt. and run off a 540 P.T.O. All units will handle sand stored outdoors. Moisture content does not matter. If it is fine sand, let us know as the agitator is different. We recommend the tractor be run at 2/3 throttle so the P.T.O. is about 400 RPM. This will give a spread width of 20ft. As you slow the motor, the spread width will become narrower. When doing sidewalks, there is a fan shroud, (#1005), to hold narrow widths. All units come with a regular agitator for seeds, fertilizer and salt only. All materials can be spread with the regular agitator (#147), but will not go as wide as this unit has a slow down ratio on the gear box.
